Paddy Mayne

Set in 1941 at the height of the campaign in North Africa, Paddy Mayne tells the story of the early days of the SAS as a small team of crack soldiers, led by Paddy Mayne, go into a battle against all odds that will change the face of the war.

It is the early months of 1941 and the Second World War is at its height and being played out in the sands of North Africa. The German and Italian armies have taken control of the African coastline and are threatening to cut off all the allied shipping in the Mediterranean, a key artery in the British war effort, the war is in the balance. Unless the Allies can defeat their enemies here then they run the risk of a potential German naval blockade and an inevitable invasion of the British Isles.

With the allied troops tied up in trying to halt the German advance, there is only one solution. A small crack unit of British soldiers must penetrate enemy lines and blow up the fuel depots supplying the German fighting machine in the Mediterranean and also destroy as many enemy landing fields and planes as possible.

In one of the most audacious missions of the war, the newly formed SAS, under the command of their fearless and charismatic leader Paddy Mayne and his group of hand picked men, have 48 hours to change the future of the war.  Alone.
