La Ville Fleurie
When horticulturalist Tom goes on a cycling holiday to discover more about his deceased Father’s wartime past he is unwittingly involved in an accident that leaves him stranded in Chateauneuf, a French village that is under threat of demolition to make way for a forthcoming motorway. The accident is only the start of Tom's adventure, an adventure that will change his life forever.
Patrice, the wily Mayor, has a plan; he has entered the village into a competition to win "La Ville Fleurie", a French village in bloom award. This is the only thing that can save Chateauneuf from its impending doom and Tom is the only man who can help the barren village to do it.
As the village enters into a battle with its neighbour to survive, Tom soon becomes an integral part of the village, but as he starts to fall in love with the Mayor’s niece, it becomes apparent that all is not what it seems in Chateauneuf.
All looks lost as his Father’s past and Patrice’s petty family squabbles come back to haunt him until Tom has an idea that will solve everything and win him the girl... if there is enough time
This beautifully observed and gentle comedy is set in the 1960s and written by Larry Barker.
